In March 2020, after visa processing was suspended due to the epidemic, nearly 500,000 international students started long online courses. Because of the epidemic, they were unable to return to China to complete their studies. Recently, the good news comes that some Chinese universities have started to send emails to collect the willingness of international students to return to the Chinese university(Policy Prediction about Arriving in China for International Students During the COVID-19).

International students who are allowed to return to Chinese universities
Two years after the border was closed to foreign students, thousands of international students from more than 10 countries have recently been allowed to return to Chinese universities with the loosening of anti-epidemic policies.
Sri Lanka
After 150 Russian students arrived in Shenzhen from Moscow on a chartered flight on April 30, 2022, on June 25, 164 Sri Lankan medical students who had been stranded abroad due to the novel coronavirus pandemic since the beginning of 2020 arrived at Tianjin on a special chartered flight of Sri Lanka Airlines. The Chinese embassy in Sri Lanka tweeted the news and said it would help more international students "return to their universities in China as soon as possible".
Pakistan
A special chartered flight has delivered the first batch of 105 Pakistani students to Xi'an on June 20, 2022, where they will undergo quarantine before returning to Chinese universities in different cities, according to Pakistan's The Express Tribune daily(First batch of Pakistani students return to China after Covid restrictions).
Thailand
A few days ago, a spokesman for Thailand's foreign ministry said that Beijing has begun accepting applications for entry from Thai students after an agreement was reached in February 2022. Thailand has 28,608 international students in China, second only to South Korea with 50,600(Thai Students Allowed to Return to Some Universities in China).
There are various indications that China has accelerated the pace of returning to domestic campuses for international students stranded abroad due to the epidemic. China began accepting foreign students from all over the world to return with conditions in April 2022, and this plan will reach its climax before the start of the semester on September 1. If the outbreak in China is further controlled, more international students are expected to return to China. Of course, we will continue to update more Chinese universities' policies for international students returning to China.
