I come from a family of traditional healers-fourth generation-but my father and grandfather stopped the practice due to their christian faith and western societal ideologies and disorientation which considered such practices evil (juju) in our part of the world. Fortunately, the desire to heal and show compassion never left the bloodline and this inspired my choice of course majors in my senior high and university educations. Studying general science and optometry respectively gave me a rare opportunity to play an important role in the health and welbeing of my clients and this is absolutely fulfilling. I recently started practicing meditations and controlled affirmations and realized a new desire to do even more than my current scope of practice allows in the area of alternative wellness modules for my clients since the demand is on the rise. I have decided to apply for this course since the People’s Republic of China is the international model for Ghanaians in the pursuit of alternative methods of health treatments. This scholarship will grant me the financial flexibility to still continue my responsibility to my loving family whiles pursuing my passion. Thank you
