Growing up as the son of a director of a pharmaceutical company, I too was expected to join the family tradition of being a business oriented family. I still remember the first tour my father gave me of his office. I felt the pressure of my father’s expectation of me becoming the future heir of the family. Little did he know that it wasn’t the transactions that interested me but the process behind the transactions that left me in awe. It was then that I found myself to be irrevocably drawn towards being a business oriented person. I wanted to prove to my father that I had what it took to be a successful personality in the real world. This instilled in me the motivation to pursue my interest and I never looked back.

Having been able to study at one of the most prestigious schooling institution in Pakistan, Aitchison College, my hard work and desire paid off in school. Apart from doing well academically, I also realized that co-curricular and sports helped build up a person’s character and personality. Years of debating and sports instilled in me the craft of argumentation, fighting to achieve, strengthening my ability to reason, as well as developing strategies. It gave me the opportunity to polish my public speaking skills and learn the effectiveness of healthy argumentation. I arranged several different competitions at my school such as the Model United Nations and English/Urdu parliamentary debates in which institutes from all over Pakistan participated; taking some critical decisions led to the ultimate success of these events. This helped me improve my management skills and taught me how to stay calm in pressure situations.

Nankai University, I believe, is by far the University having world class reputation in research and faculty. Nankai University, being one of the top ranked universities in the world will provide me an opportunity to show my potential more widely and would help me more around the business world. I believe Nankai University can provide me the platform I need to showcase my talent. The diversity at Nankai University is a positive point for me as I'll get to know many people from different background and cultures. This would help me in character building and would also improve my ability to think as I’ll be able to interact with people having different thoughts and point of views. The reason I opted for a course as meticulous and exciting as Business stems from my ambition and objective to rejuvenate the educational and economic prosperity goals in my hometown back in Pakistan. An ever-lasting source of motivation, the very thought of doing a greater good for my country, using my abilities and practical knowledge, instills in me the determination to make myself limitless and unrestricted. I believe that there exists more than one solution to any problem and for a problem to be optimally tackled one must be able to see all aspects to it and one must be diverse in experiences and understanding; something that this program not only allows but strongly focuses on. There is absolutely no doubt that the environment and the academic prospects of Nankai University groom me into a stronger, more logical person. For me, to utilize the numerous opportunities available for students at Nankai University will become a great asset in gaining practical experience rather than only theoretical knowledge. I feel the guidance I will be given here will be unmatched. Interacting and seeking knowledge from the outstanding faculty will give me greater insight and ideas in the realm of business. I believe that I have been on the right path so far in pursuing my dream and a place at your university will be of the utmost importance for making this dream a reality.
