I am writing this letter in support of my application for Masters in Microelectronics at your prestigious university. I obtained Bachelor Degree of Electrical Engineering with specialization in Electronics and decided to obtain Masters Degree in microelectronics. I understand that the microelectronics industry is revolutionizing the world every day. But Pakistan is lagging far behind the western countries in scientific advancement and technological development especially in the field of micro-electronics. The work on microchips is crucial to play a vital part in the development of nation. That’s why I ambitious to work on microchips and their counterpart software to be a leader in microchip industry in Pakistan. I am sure it would strongly enrich my future studies and help me in my prospective career. The undergraduate studies were just the introduction of engineering and for a person who seeks excellence in the field of microelectronics should pursue higher studies in that particular field. I remember the time when I was studying the course of Electronic Circuits-I in which we have been taught about Bipolar junction transistors, Field effect transistors, MOSFETs, CMOS technology. Thenceforward, subsequent studies of Digital Electronics, Integrated Circuit Design, Digital Logic Design, Microprocessor and Microcontroller Design and VLSI Principles potentiated my ambitions to pursue higher studies in microelectronics. I studied more about micro and nano electronics and observed that the scaling of circuits is becoming a challenge for scientists and engineers. The scientists and engineers are working together to enhance the computing capability of micro chips and shifting towards nano scale circuits. Nano scale circuits are sensitive to temperature changes, cosmic rays and electromagnetic rays and problems like heat dissipation, interconnections, phenomenon like stray signals on chips and fabrication difficulties are the challenges, scientists and engineers have to cater with. The technology is moving towards quantum computing, molecular computing and spintronics. To acquire further in-depth knowledge I am deeply interested in design of micro and nanoelectronic circuits and fabrication of chips. My goal is to establish a design and fabrication facility in Pakistan for which I will pursue doctoral studies. I would very much like to be enrolled at Central China Normal University. This would give me the opportunity to deepen my electronics knowledge in the inspiring, innovative, and culturally rich environment of China. I hope my prospective studies at a prestigious university would give me the opportunity to stand in the row of renowned scientists.
