In my search for exceptionality in my chosen field, I know that I had to study at a reputable institution. One that was capable of teaching me the skills and knowledge I need to become an exceptional doctor. There are a few good medical schools in Ghana, and most follow the traditional idea of a “Ghanaian” education. That is, excessive memorization of medical discourse and extremely little practical application of such knowledge in their respective fields. While this practice may be adequate for some, I know that it is not the best for me. Hence, I chose to study overseas, specifically in Nankai University . I wished to study in a culturally diverse community with enough practical opportunities to back our theoretical lectures.

Nankai is one of the few accredited universities which also has a large presence from the international community. At Nankai university, I am guaranteed a world class education and an remarkable university experience, as I would be in the midst of bright minds from all walks of life. Nankai medical school is also recognized in my home country making it easier to transition into my career when I return home. As an aspiring medical student, the resources and laboratories form an essential role in my decision making. Nankai has the one of the best labs and research facilities in China. Moreover, I get the opportunity to extend my international studies through the many “Study Abroad” and exchange programs. All these various benefits would ultimately contribute to making me a holistic student.
