Statement of Motivation

This is the reason why I interested to apply for the program in your university. If I am selected to this program, I think I will have the opportunity to learn in the well-organized university and also I will get a chance though Master in Material Engineering scholarship to interact with student from divers professional and cultural background dawn from all over the world. The exposure is important for interaction and integration of diverse ideas and perspectives to various global issues; for the world is mosaic of different culture and a single perspective cannot apply in all these culture. It is the known fact that it will enable to create my linkage to the regional or international society that had the same interest like me. I am also aware of the kind of dedication and perseverance. I need to have for achieving the best in the field & I believe my education background and interest will qualify me for the department. I am writing this statement of motivation to express my interest in applying for scholarship to Master in Material Engineering at your University. I believe my educational background would enable me to take strong contribution at the university. I graduated from Dilla University Oct. 24, 2008 and got my Bachelor degree of science in physics with great distinction (CGPA 3.51). I also have a Collage Diploma in Physics from Awassa College of Teacher Education in 2002 with great distinction my academic performance has been always on top of class (CGPA 3.61). I have 6 years teaching experience with Diploma in physics and 2 years & 8 months with degree in physics and thus totally I have 8 years & 8 months teaching experience at different governmental schools. Now I am working as a Head of the chief executive office at Addis Ababa city Administration at Yeka Sub-City Adminisration consulting on educational issues. Thus I would like to continue my studies in order to gain knowledge and experiences in academic research and I believe master degree program with Material Engineering would offer me the opportunity of academic training, emphasis the development of critical attitude and analytical and problem solving skill and of gaining more in-depth knowledge of a wide range Material Engineering disciplines which is the complete view of aspects found in the field especially with Material Engineering .

The reason for choosing this department comes from the fact that I would like to share knowledge and contribute my work in this field in the near future. I already have some background knowledge because I took some courses related to the field previously in my college and university studies. However, I still believe that this background knowledge is not sufficient enough even to satisfy myself. Finally I can say that I look forward to join this program of Master with Material Engineering . In this field of study, there is lack of adequately skilled professionals in my organization not only in my organization but also in my country. The first achievement will be capacity building by upgrading the academic staff profile in the department that allows us to run program in related areas of study. Secondly, it enhances the research scope of the organization and in addition, it enables me to solve related problems of the society. So, I sincerely wait positive response by thinking as highly essential for my future carrier.
