“Why settle for better when you could make the best?” were the words my parents repeatedly reechoed to me whenever they perused my school report cards. Their challenge taught me to pursue excellence and to make hard work my best friend. Becoming self-reliant, self-motivated and pin-pointedly focused on my goals were the by-products of such advice. Since high school, I have kept the advice of my parents and pursued excellence in every walk of life be it academics, leadership positions and voluntary services. At the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where I did my undergraduate studies in BA. Economics, I graduated with a high grade of second class Upper honors and currently enrolled in a professional course Association of Certified Chartered Economist, ACCE (Part III) by the American Academy of Financial Management, AAFM to specialize in Finance to enable me enhance my academic credential as well as an in-depth understanding of the programme i have passion in to contribute positively in the public domain. Going beyond academic work at KNUST, I served as a Business Development Manager and head of the marketing team with Creative Minds Multimedia (CMM) a campus organization that primarily serve and update students on any information that is relevant to promote academic excellence. My term of office was during my last year in KNUST which was demanding a lot because I was meant to combine academic work, thesis and also my responsibilities with CMM. I also secured a semester contract with Prestige capital (an Investment Bank), which I trained, inspired and motivated my brand ambassadors (which were students) to harness and unleash their God –given potentials to enable them experience the pleasure of accomplishment, build up a mindset of talking to fellow student to get involved in the investment packages Prestige Capital has for them on campus. I also served as a Financial Secretary for the New Apostolic Church (NAC) at KNUST and Hostel Representative for the church. Whilst in school, I worked with Forever Living Company as Sales distributor where my major duties were to sell the company’s products to students as well as recruit new members for the company. Currently am a Research Assistant in KNUST with the major role of assisting Senior Research fellows of the University in related research works in technologies. To gain cultural and work experience through diversity, I participated in the International Development Summer Institute (IDSI) 2013 in Ghana which was a summit comprising selected KNUST students (six) and twelve (12) students from the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN), USA to have a practical knowledge of what we study in school in specified fields designed for the summit. I worked with the Microfinance sector together with my paired colleague from UPENN in the accounting department to help prepare financial statement and entering of transactions made by the microfinance in accounting software and also volunteered to work on a water and scarcity project in Tanzania in the year 2014 under the International Development Design Summit. Why study in China? I like the educational system in China towards teaching and research. The various institution’s eminent faculty members are well known. More importantly for me as a foreign student, the individualized nature of the Master program will be of immense help to me especially to the programme of International Business I want to pursue. This is so because taking an in-depth view on how the economy of China which grows progressively through technology gives a positive realization that practically my choice of programme will enable me develop the necessary skill to promote manufactured technologies on the Business front. My objective when admitted, will be to countlessly associate myself with my Professors in my field of study to clearly explain some lecture topics I did not understand and to share some ideas since they are experienced in such area. I will also do my best during vacation periods to secure internship opportunity with Governmental Institution or Corporate bodies to also gain on the job training experience. I hope to conduct research and find answers to some of the problems facing the business world and its resolute measures in promoti
