So after weeks of scrolling through online ads and visiting a few private sellers, I finally found a 2015 Patrol that looks really clean and the owner seems genuine. It's got 160k on the clock which I know is nothing for a Patrol if it's been looked after, but I'm no mechanic and I'm terrified of buying someone else's headache. The owner says it has full service history and no accidents, but you never really know right? I've been reading that it's totally worth paying a shop to do a thorough check before handing over any cash. I'm thinking of booking a mussafah pre-purchase inspection at a garage that knows these SUVs well because I've heard stories of people finding out later the chassis had been straightened or the transmission was on its last legs. Has anyone here done one of these inspections on a used car and actually had it save them from a bad buy? Or did the mechanic just point out minor stuff that you would have accepted anyway? Just trying to decide if it's 500 dirhams well spent or just peace of mind theater.
