My motivation for the health program is because of my personal experience as a child growing up in northern part of Ghana and living with relative as a health worker who tried to do his best to save lives. This part of the country is known to be poor and deprived of most basic need. Perhaps it is my uncles role as health worker that first exposed me to many realities facing the people. Hunger, famine and also ethnic conflict lead to tribal war, have been common. In all these situations diseases and death have been common among women and children. On several occasions I have witnessed pregnant women carried on bicycle for emergency. Many die before reaching clinic.
Since childhood therefore, I have developed a strong interest in saving lives. I believe alot more could be done with health care provision and support through health care personnel. Thanks
