To Whom It May Concern:

Outstanding economic growth that China experienced impressed me because it is a know-how that does not exist in Europe. By this letter, I would like to express my sincere interest at Bachelor program in Finance at SWUFE University and show that it can complete my personal experiences in the field of finance.

The path that I had decided to take after graduating High School of Sciences in Paris started with gap years to invest in my professional life by attending non-profit organizations. Then very great opportunity came crossed my way : seminar “270///360 : Change the World” run by the official American Democratic Party’s leader whose aim is to train future global leaders. I was active in fundraising department where I learnt how to strengthen bonds between public and private sectors. Then several projects around UNO COP 21 that were dedicated to community managing and negotiations. At some point, I collected all experiences that I was looking for and decided to put all my efforts into studying one discipline : finance.

The United States and the United Kingdom were of course attractive destination, as much as Paris ; yet, something kept pushing me to experience an entirely different one : China. Outstanding economic growth of the country for the last century was interesting fact but what encouraged me the most was that this achievement had been realized under entirely different theoretical conditions ; the conception of a five years planified economy is what motivated me the most, as a Westerner. This was completely different from our Western classical liberal conceptions. What is more, not only Chinese state become more and more present in Europe as a financial partner : Mr. Xi Jinping diplomatic visit in Czech Republic clearly affirms it, but also Chinese private partners tend to establish new relations between East and West by recent agreement of Dong Feng Motors with France to invest in PSA Renault's capital. All these examples indicate that studying in China is the best choice.

More personally, I grew up in the chinese neighbourhood of Paris, a lot of my closest relatives were born in China and I had the opportunity to experience everyday Chinese culture through relation with their family. Furthermore, I attended Philosophy & Human Thoughts program at "La Sorbonne" University. My favorite teacher introduced me to the Confucian writings, and even to some Chairman Mao Zedong classical writing from dialectical materialism. This also weighed in my final decision.

I was seeking for something special, a bachelor degree that aims to build a new generation of leaders. The Finance, Accounting, Management and Economics program (FAME) tend to get more favour amongst students, and one can feel that competition in these fields will be extremely fierce right after graduating. SWUFE stands at a level that is merely not present in most Chinese FAME’s schools. Furthermore the city of Chengdu is the biggest financial center for west/center China, and is recognized by several international companies. Furthermore, its favourable environment permits to apply know-how learnt at SWUFE.

Sincere regards,
