Study Plan
I am Mercy K. Sackie, a graduate of the John Wesleh Pearson High School in Nimba County, Liberia. I will be very grateful to accept an offer from the Department of National Sciences from the university.
I am longing for Bachelor’s Degree in China; after graduation, l hope to return to Liberia to work as a professional Marine Scientist to help contribute to my country’s development agenda. In addition, after the country suffered 14-year political instability, all sectors of the Liberian society were destroyed including education, road, health etc. As the nation emerges in its democracy and search for sustainable development, the importance of the ocean to the economy cannot be underestimated. As such, investing in the Marine Science has been one of the government’s top priorities.
Introduction of my background
I was born in the City of Yekepah, Nimba County, Liberia, as the only child to my late parents.
In 2005, I enrolled at the John Wesleh Pearson High School where I remained and completed my secondary education. Due to my fluency in natural sciences as a high school student, it gave me the opportunity to have a solid foundation in science and to pursue my future career as Marine Scientist.
Why do I choose to study in China?
Natural science has many years of history in China. Until now, China is still believed to be in the leading position in the field of Natural Sciences.
Obtaining a university education in China will no doubt greatly benefit my country, Liberia including my future career as a Marine Scientist. It will give me more opportunities to interact with, and learn from the best science professors in China.
Why do I choose to study at any of the above listed universities in China?
These universities are considered to be among the top ranking universities especially their prestigious departments of Natural Sciences in the history of Chinese Education. Studying in such first-class Marine Science program has always being my dream. I chose this program for its prestigious professors, stimulating atmosphere and beautiful sceneries.
