Zhejiang Medical University is one of the top ranking universities in China, and that alone is a good enough reason for anyone to choose this university. However, that is not all the reason for me to select this university as my post secondary institution. Zhejiang Medical University’s strengths in medical education, scientific research, and clinical practices are well recognized; in fact, the university is recognized by World Health Organization as one of the most qualified universities in China, with up-to-date equipment, well-structured curriculum, and high quality education. The recognition proves that the quality of the university’s education is exceptional, which escalates my interest further. Additionally, because of the fact that Zhejiang Medical University was founded in 1960, it has already built a solid foundation. I believe that because of its age, it shows the credibility of the university itself. Not only does Zhejiang Medical University provide regular Chinese programs, it also provides an International program. Since the university offers an International program, it makes the university more accessible for people of all nationalities to study at Zhejiang Medical University. In addition, studying in China will improve upon my ability to speak Mandarin Chinese; which will prove to be beneficial in the future as Chinese is one of the most prevalently spoken language in the world. Furthermore, Zhejiang Medical University has international links with other countries in Asia, Europe, and North America, which allows for collaborative programs and projects to be possible. These collaborative projects grant the exchanging of experiences for students from different countries, which I do wish to take part in if I have the chance to do so. Moreover, various institutes and research centres are available for me to pursue or look into, including unique ones such as stem cells or tissue engineering. Zhejiang Medical University also offers training for USMLE and PLAB exams if I wish to continue my practice in the United States of America or the United Kingdom, which is a very helpful and appealing option for me in the future. If I graduate from Zhejiang Medical University, the knowledge and experience that I have obtained from that point on will be beneficial to me and everyone else that I come in contact to, especially the people of Thailand. Due to the fact that I am from Thailand, I will be able to use my learning in Zhejiang Medical University to treat and remedy the people of my home country. Moreover, my purpose is to return to Thailand and improve upon the health system there. Although, it may only be one small action from a lone individual, I wish that my action will spark a reaction and make a difference later on in the future. I am confident that Zhejiang Medical University will be able to grant me the ability to do so.
