What’s the difference between all these Windows Server versions? Kinda lost here.

Hey everyone, I’ve been trying to wrap my head around all the different Windows Server versions out there and honestly I’m a bit confused. I’m not super deep into IT, but I’ve recently started helping manage some stuff at work and we’re looking into setting up a more stable server environment. Problem is, every time I look up Windows Server, I keep running into names like 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022... plus terms like Standard, Datacenter, Essentials. It’s all starting to blur together.

I came across this page (https://gigabitscloud.com/listing/windows-server/) that breaks down a lot of the Windows Server versions in one place, which helped a bit, but I’d still love to hear what people here actually think. Like what version are you using and why? Is it worth going with something newer like 2022 or are the older ones still solid for most setups? Also curious if there's anything I should be watching out for depending on the version I go with.

Would really appreciate any insights from folks who’ve been through this or are currently running Windows Server in production. Thanks in advance!
