I have always been aware of Peking University's vaunted reputation as being one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the world. As someone of Chinese descent, I specifically hope to leverage my innate Chinese language abilities and affinity for Chinese culture to further immerse myself in Chinese culture and familiarize myself with the social mechanisms of the PRC. I believe that through spending one semester in Peking University where I will have ample opportunities to both expand my social network in China and enrich my understanding of Chinese customs, I will be able to benefit the economic relations and cultural interactions between my home country Australia and the PRC in the future.
