My name is Gergő Garay (Chinese name: 高睿) , I am a 26 years old university student from Hungary. I would like to apply to the Preparatory Chinese Language Course Scholarship Program.

My main reason for applying to this program would be to continue my study of the language, and, if possible, to have classes on international relations in China. Your University fits the best to my hopes, as it is focused on political, and social sciences, and is placed in Shanghai, the cosmopolitan hub of China.

I have finished my BA in International Relations in Corvinus University Budapest, and I am currently studying an East Asian Studies MA degree, which is a joint degree from two Hungarian universities (Pazmany Peter Catholic University and Corvinus University Budapest).

During my studies, I focused on Chinese international relations and to a degree, on the economic development of China, and I wrote my thesis on the Transformation of State-owned Enterprises.

I have spent two years of my life in Asia (first, when I was 16 years old, I was in Japan for a year with a scholarship, and I spent a year in Xi'an, China from 2016 August to 2017 July with the Chinese Government Scholarship) and I plan to find a job later in China to help improving and deepening the relations between Hungary and China. In the last two years I have also focused on learning the Chinese language, and my most important plan for the short-term future is to improve my Chinese from HSK 4 level, to at least HSK 5.
