Jiangsu University is one of the greatest universities both locally and globally. It is widely known to be offering competitive education and has good student governing and controlling policies. It has entered into collaborative and bilateral agreements with various international universities including those in the Continent of Africa. These bilateral agreements have been fruitful as many of the African Countries benefited a lot from free scholarships ranging from tuition fees and accommodation fees. Currently, there are approximately 15 different Chinese Government Scholarships available at the many universities in Jiangsu, making this university a major contributor to improving African students' socioeconomic status. It is also a great benefactor for foreign students in China.

This is evidenced by an increase in the number of international students in the university. Since the university has started admission of international students in 1976, more than 130, 000 international students from 175 foreign countries have come to study in Jiangsu. According to the university website, the number of international students has increased by an average annual rate of nearly 15%. In 2012, 45 universities and colleges received approximately 17000 international students, 45% of which were participating in a year-long certificate program, while 74% were enrolled in a post-secondary degree (https://www.studyinjiangsu.org/lxjs/wj/content/6106e20f-d701-4932-a91e-d2d19579e62b.html).

In addition to it being a great benefactor for international students, the university is also trying to progress in the realm of education for international students by enticing those from China’s partner countries to pick China. There is a concern that international students face a serious challenges of language barrier and financial barriers worldwide and this situation is believed to negatively affects international students' performances. The university is addressing this issue by working together with different levels of government, provincial authorities/governments as well as other universities and colleges countrywide. This linkage is meant to remedy the issue by facilitating available educational system to ensure that it appeals to all students in the modern culture of globalization.

For example, in 2015, colleges and schools in Jiangsu province will have built up more than 100 English-instructed excellent courses and 300 bilingual excellent courses to the needs of foreign student education. This great development was solely meant to increase access of international students to better educational facilities where they can interact better with diverse cultures in the province.
