I have selected Hebei University China because it is a research focused institute. The faculty and facilities are absolutely ideal to help me achieve my set goals. I selected this institute after comparing and contrasting carefully several Institutes. This University focuses its research in almost all fields of Environmental Sciences. I am interested in Cartography and Geographic Information System; especially the application of GIS for tourism management. I want to explore new and novel methods that will help to improve the deficiencies that a tourist spot lack. We know the importance of tourism for a country; it helps a country not only increase its economy but also explore its culture and traditions to the world. In Pakistan, we have universities but due to unavailability of resources, meaningful research cannot be carried out. My supervisor, Dr. Shahid Iqbal suggested that China has extensive research facilities on Geographic Information System, so I made my mind and start searching Chinese Universities offering Master in Cartography and GIS and I chose Hebei Normal University. Here, I will not only obtain practical knowledge in this field but will also gain expertise that will be consumed in the discovery of novel method for tourism management.
