I was born in Rwanda, one of the smallest countries but with highest population density along with high poverty which lead to destruction of environment and biodiversity with unsustainable natural resources use. Ever since I was a child I wanted to know why things happen, especially concerning the interactions between humans and its surrounding environment, why this livings exist here not there, and so on. To nurse my inquisitiveness I took advanced courses in Biology, chemistry and Mathematics for high school and consequently I applied for the Bachelor Program in wildlife science and conservation at University of Dar es Salaam. I choose to apply for this University thinking that it can be a way that will allow me to accomplish my dreams by studying Masters of environmental science.

I dedicated my future career in the field of Environment conservation. Being selected to study to this University, I will be able to: (1) Prepare my future career in Conservation of biological resources creatively and analytically based on sound facts while considering the social, economic and environmental aspects of biodiversity (2) Gain enough standards knowledge and professional skills to competently administer, manage environmental resources (3) Increase my leadership skills so that I’ll be able to apply the acquired knowledge for biological resources conservation, management and development (4) Increase my communication skills to effectively respond to institutional, operational and organizational challenges in environmental management related fields (5) To enhance and familiarize with team build to effectively and efficiently learn from others’ experiences and capabilities on both technical and legal, socio–economic aspects environmental management that will help me to better understand the cross cutting problems of environment and climate change worldwide.

On my return home, I shall concentrate more in academic and research in Water Resources and Environmental Management and other related fields. Being part of team conceptualizing Biodiversity Conservation and Climate Change aiming at undertaking Trainings, conducting Researches and Consultancy and providing advisory services and deal with social-legal and technical aspects of biodiversity conservation; including water resources and environmental governance in Rwanda by answering the problems of the communities related to climate change, shortage of water and water resources exploitation in Rwanda. I hope with no doubt that this program will be very beneficial not only for me, but also for my institution as well as my country.
