Over time it became clear to me that the people who understand the accounting, monetary and banking system are capable of understanding the decisions made by governments, public and private multi national corporate and accountability coupled with the survival in the economic world order. This fascination and realization has triggered and persuaded me to be one of those people.

As I broaden my knowledge about such things I have realized how the subject of Accounting and the economy affects everybody's lives, and has strengthened my desire to further study the subject. The A-level subjects I am studying give me a firm foundation for studying Finance at University. Business Studies at A-level (Economics, Business Studies and Accounting) has greatly improved my analytical and writing skills. I have particularly enjoyed the part of the course which concerns how a firm selects financial strategies and how managers choose which aspect of a firm needs the most investment. Exposure to this accounting work environment has improved my communication skills and self-confidence and has also made me more appreciative and open to other cultures and diverse and broad understanding of what is required for a business to be successful. Alongside the logical method of thinking that I have developed and acquired from both the work environment and reading I believe that I am well prepared to take on a degree course in Accounting at Wuhan University.

My part-time job as accounts clerk has given me some insight into the demands of working life. I now feel I am an able employee and because of the nature of the job. I have learned how to communicate with colleagues, my employer and of course, customers. I often have to work alone so I have learned to use my own initiative and how to be independent - skills which are of paramount importance if I want to work in the financial industry.

This coupled coupled with my being the Mutare City Junior speaks volume at my abilities to lead and handle and articulate issues at a very high level in a very demanded and stressful environment. I have learned how to deal with immense pressure - and how to enjoy the success which comes afterwards! In addition to this, I have learned about commitment and dedication as well as honour and how to handle a major loss and learn from such, and also how to remain humble in success. This exposure is paramount in shaping my studies to international levels consistent with my aspiration to be a top accounting guru. Wuhan University is situated in one of the fastest-growing cities in China which has grown even more to a population of over 10 million. It is the industrial and commercial centre in Central China focusing on industries such as high-tech, manufacturing, engineering and pharmacy. Further, Wuhan is an important transportation hub in China connecting major cities in all directions through high-speed railways and expressways. Wuhan University is ranked within the world’s top 500 as per QS University Ranking of the world’s top universities. In addition, Wuhan is a main centre of education and science in China and has the highest numbers of students in the country with many English-taught programmes that attract a lot of foreign students seeking to explore and expand in their quest for good education offered by the university. The university offers comparably low tuition fees and cost of living compared to other universities and thus makes the university and city in Central China a popular destination for international students. This then presents me with opportunities work or have industrial attachment at companies as part of my studies following the dispensation on new policies allowing foreign students to do internships, seek part-time jobs.
