The country and the culture of China have always interested me. I have visited China in summer last year, and stayed in Shanghai a few months. I saw and heard only good things about Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

1- The city of Shanghai is a leading metropolis in China; Jiao Tong University is right in the middle of that city full of opportunities. In addition to that, Jiao Tong University is internationally known and open-minded and has great ranking. This is a major reason as why I want to study there. 2- I am currently doing a master degree in translation in three languages, which are German, French and English and am already working occasionally as a translator. Thanks to globalisation, Chinese is becoming more and more important and widespread, making it a very interesting language for a translator. I want to expand my knowledge and add Chinese to my language portfolio. 3- The academic competence of the teachers and professors at the Jiao Tong University is worlwide renowned, making it the perfect place in my eyes to study there.

All these reasons make it for me a perfect place to study hard, increase my knowledge of the fascinating Chinese culture and language.
