China is the world's fastest growing economy and it is leading the world in technology. As an enthusiast in computers and science, I am often amazed by the technological innovations China has contributed to the world. The world's fastest supercomputer, the Xiaodu artificial intelligence system and the high-speed trains are just a few examples. To be a part of the emergence of this technological giant is my dream and greatest honor. I believe that a Bachelor's program at Tsinghua University (known for its strength in Computer Science) is the best method to achieve this.
Moreover, the students of Tsinghua University are some of the most diverse, intelligent and interesting of all universities in the world. Along with the world-class education, I think that my experience at this institution will refine me—both in academics and in personality.
In return, I can contribute to the community with my strengths. According to Tsinghua's homepage, there are only nine Norwegian students as of October 2016. Students with vastly different cultures and backgrounds can learn from one another. My Norwegian nationality can therefore be a valuable addition to the student body. Even better, I am of Chinese ethnicity and speak Chinese fluently, I can therefore act as a connecting bridge between the Chinese students and Norwegian culture.
In addition to my multicultural characteristic, my academic capabilities allow me to make great use of the education at Tsinghua University.
