I have been studying Mandarin myself for the past two years and am keen to increase my skills in an immersive setting. I am currently working in Advertising and as brands become more global it is becoming increasingly beneficial to have international experience and I believe being bilingual will be incredibly beneficial to my future career. I’m also interested in studying Mandarin for personal reasons, as my father is from Hong Kong and I’ve always wanted to spend time in China. This University came highly recommended by several friends and family members. It was highlighted as especially good for International Students. The courses on offer here appeal to me because they cover the Chinese culture as well as Language - which I think will give me a greater understanding and make me a better linguist. I’m keen to get started as soon as possible, so am looking at the ‘Winter’ programme that runs for 3 weeks through January, then the ‘Spring Semester’ course from the end of February.
