As a Canadian born Chinese, I understand that Chinese history and literature are very important. With my Chinese roots, I want to learn more about my culture and the long history behind it. Studying in Beijing will help me achieve that because it will fully immerse me in the culture. Another benefit of studying in China is improving my Chinese language. I want to be able to communicate with the people fluently and also be able to help others learn Chinese. During grade 5 and 6, I went to the International School of Beijing. Studying at a large international school made me a global citizen and helped me learn about different cultures. With my personal connections to friends around the world, I wish to contribute more to help China and other parts of the globe build stronger relationships, especially Canada.
