I have lived in China for over 4 years and my Chinese level has been through many stages of improving massively, and many more stages of not improving at all. At this point in my time in China, I am finding my level of Chinese is not high enough for my career, and it's holding me back. Besides the aforementioned point, I recently got engaged to my lovely fiance, who happens to be from Tianjin, she'd like to move back to Tianjin so we can start a family and a happy life together. Her father is also an alumni of Nankai university and recommends it very highly. I feel we could have a comfortable life in Tianjin and I could gain a lot from such a prestigious university as Nankai. I've read many reviews and even seen the university in person in the past, and think it has a very comfortable environment. Most importantly though, with have a Chinese fiance, living in China for so long, and working here for so long, I think it's time that I stop making excuses and really try hard to learn Chinese, for my family, for my work, and so that I can contribute more to Chinese society.
