MOTIVATIONAL STATEMENT ON DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN MANAGEMENT
I wish to express my interest in your Doctor of Philosophy in Management Program as follows: - Public and private institutions and their operations in national and international markets have always fascinated me. That is why; I am aiming for a profession in that direction. In search of the right education and qualification for the career I’m striking for Harbin Institute of Technology appeared as one of the best places to study. Not just because of its excellent rankings but also because of its Management Program, which combines the academic theory with important key skills and relevant knowledge about foreign cultures and the intercourse with them and all of that in a personal environment.
Also, on an international market that is driven by globalization the importance of teaching exactly those additional skills increased significantly in the last few years. You cannot do business globally without interacting with foreign cultures and for that you need to understand them.
Another pretty important aspect about the Harbin Institute of Technology offers is the relationship to internships and practical experience, which is probably at least as important as the theoretical knowledge. For that, it is not only required to complete internships but also was there a special design of the schedule to suit the program.
As a fundament for the applied degree program I can show both theoretical and practical prerequisites. For that I took Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Management for a period of three years in first degree studies at the Institute of Social Work- Tanzania (2006- 2009) but also I pursued a Master of Science in in HRM for 18 months at Mzumbe University- Tanzania (2010-2012). In July 2010, I engaged with the Law School of Tanzania as the Human Resources Officer where I am working to date to which I was capable to perform all of the administrative and Human resources duties and responsibilities.
Furthermore, I do have a high willingness to perform and a readiness of mind, that I was also able to demonstrate in an extracurricular internship and plentiful of vacation jobs. But there is also my intercultural competence that was built up and advanced during my first degree and the second one, where I was able to affiliate quickly into the new surrounding also my character stood for a nice working climate that was appreciated both by students and teachers and co- workers at work.
Every day’s life at the Harbin Institute of Technology would also benefit from that because a pleasant working climate not only facilitates but also enhances teamwork tremendously. As a Doctor of Philosophy in Management I would seek for a career in a medium-sized to large organizations that operates on the global market. In that matter I would benefit from the Institute Management’s good reputation and find my place in the business with greater success.
Yours Sincerely,
R.D. Chuma
