Four years ago I started studying Chinese at the German School of Barcelona as an extra school activity. Step by step I became more interested in learning language and also Chinese culture. In summer of 2015 thanks to Hanban, some students went to a summer campus in Harbin during two weeks. I enjoyed the trip incredibly, so I was sure that sooner than later I would spent some time in China in the future. After graduating at the German School in Barcelona and before starting university I want to make a big step forward with my Chinese knowledge living in China for a year. Looking back to my education, I have always been surrounded by a multicultural environment, which makes me able to integrate in different cultures and countries successfully. At the time I speak five different languages and I’m still ambitious for increase this number. It’s obvious that Chinese is going to be a relevant language in future and therefore it will be a more and more competitive issue for my future professional career. It is necessary for young people to open their minds to other cultures and countries and take profit of the huge amount of opportunities some universities offer to foreign students. Moreover this year is not only going to be focused on improving my professional skills but continuing my personal growing after leaving school and before beginning with a more mature atmosphere at university.
