Located on the site of "Qing Hua Yuan" in Haidian District, Beijing, Tsinghua University was founded in 1911, formerly known as a royal garden of the Qing Dynasty. The campus is famous for its beautiful surroundings embraced by shady trees and time-honored architectural complexes with different features and styles, in which "Shui Mu Qing Hua" has a long history of reputation. Tsinghua University is one of the leading universities directly affiliated with the Ministry of Education of China. Peking University

Peking University is a comprehensive university located in Haidian District, Beijing. As one of the founding members of ‘Project 985’, the national government program which seeks to develop an elite tier of world-class universities in China, it is regarded as one of the best universities in China and attracts talented students from around the country and the world.

Its current campus, located in the university district in north-west Beijing, has a total area of 2,743,532 square meters and features a mixture of traditional Chinese architecture and modern facilities surrounded by gardens and waterways. Situated in a formal royal garden itself, its neighbors are the Summer Palace and Yuanmingyuan (the Old Summer Palace). Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), directly subordinate to the Ministry of Education, is a key university in China, jointly run by the Ministry and Shanghai Municipality. Since its adoption of the reform and opening up policy in China, SJTU has taken the lead in the management system reform in the institutions of higher learning, thus regaining its vigor and vitality as well as momentum for rapid growth as never seen before.

A number of its disciplines have been advancing towards the world's first-class level, such as communication and electronic system, naval architecture and ocean engineering, automatic control, composite materials, and metal plasticity processing. A batch of burgeoning branches of learning has occupied an important position in the country, such as Large-scale integrated circuit, computer science, optical fiber technology, systems engineering.

3. How to prepare for applying for universities in China

1). Don’t make a decision in a hasty way, you should look carefully at the student recruitment brochure, and choose a suitable program for yourself.

2). Admission is based on high scores of your previous graduated school.

3). China has set a limit regulation for foreign students, when the student applying, the student’s age should not be over 30 for a Bachelor’s degree and 40 for a Master’s degree and PhD.

4). Apply for at least 3 universities and you will improve your chance to be admitted.

5). Check the scholarship websites and apply for some scholarship before you come to China because some of the scholarships do not accept the application by already studying in China students.

6. Common Required Application Materials

1). Passport photo

7. University Application Deadlines

The academic year in China usually has two semesters, spring semester and autumn semester,

1). For the Spring semester: you should submit the application until mid-July.

2). For the autumn semester: you should submit the application until late April.


8. Some other thing you should keep in mind after receiving your admission letter

1). When you receiving your admission letter you should apply for your Chinese student visa as soon as possible. Check with the Chinese embassy/consulate in your area for details.

2). Within 30 days of your arrival in China, you will have to submit a residence permit from a local public security office or a police station.

3). Arrange a health insurance plan; this has to cover accidental injury and medical treatments and cover at least around 62,000USD. You can get your insurance from your home country or purchase a health insurance card once you arrive in China.
