International students are not allowed to work and do business, or any other economic activities in China during their studies, including teaching languages in Chinese families, institutions, or any casual work. Foreign students employed illegally may be fined or even be ordered to leave China within a specified time. However you can take part in work-study activities after getting approval from both school and government.
