# International Influence of Chinese

Liu Hong, deputy director of the Department of Language Information Management of the Ministry of Education, introduced that by the end of 2020, more than 180 countries and regions around the world had carried out Chinese education, more than 70 countries had incorporated Chinese into the national education system, and more than 20 million people outside China were learning Chinese.

At the same time, the international status of Chinese has been rising. Since 2021, Chinese has officially become the official language of the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
