It is a reputable University with good access to linguistic resources pertaining to some of China's 方言, which I plan to do my research into. I already live in Shanghai and have done for nearly a year, so it would not take me long to adjust and begin studying.

Why Study Foreign Language & Applied Linguistics at Central...
I have a strong interest in Hunan's regional linguistics. With easy access to speakers of 湘语, as well as the close proximity to enclaves of speakers of 土家语 and 苗语, I find this university to be a perfect platform for my studies into them.
