Nanjing University currently has two campuses. The main campus is Xianlin Campus, which covers about 1.2 million m², in East Nanjing’s Xianlin college town. The other, Gulou Campus is located in the downtown area, covering around 540 thousand m².

The international students who study on Xianlin Campus include all undergraduate students and general scholars (except those of the Chinese Language bachelor/general scholar programmes); master and doctoral students as well as senior scholars of the following departments: School of the Environment, Department of Computer Science and Technology, School of Electronic Science and Engineering, School of Geographic and Oceanographic Sciences, School of Earth Sciences and Engineering, School of Foreign Studies, School of Liberal Arts, School of Journalism and Communication, School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, School of Government, Department of Philosophy, School of Information Management, School of Atmospheric Sciences, School of Life Sciences, School of Astronomy and Space Science and School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

The international students who study on Gulou Campus include the undergraduate students and general scholars of Chinese Language programmes; master and doctoral students, as well as senior scholars, of: the Institute for International Students, the Business School, School of Modern Engineering and Applied Science, School of Modern Engineering and Applied Science, Law School, Institute of Education, Software Institute, School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Department of Mathematics, Physics School, and Academy of Arts.
